Weather Forecast

There are a couple of Typhoons in the area.  Looks like Okinawa will get hammered with the strongest typhoon in 13 years.

And there's another lurking which just might pass through the Ishigaki area around Tuesday, as a category 1 typhoon.  So far the only warnings issued for Ishigaki is high waves.

  1. It's a weird typhoon. It's just kind of spinning out there, and it'll make a turn south, east then north. It's tracking a little farther west right now, so I think it might just brush by Ishigaki. You never know with them.

And since this storm's only a Type 1, it's a lot less powerful than that Type 4 headed to Okinawa. Looks like they're going to get hammered pretty good.

  2. I read that Typhoon Bolaven, which is now slamming Okinawa, is likely the biggest typhoon to hit Okinawa in 56 years.

Also, it seems that Bolaven is keeping Tembin from tracking back east, which is keeping it from making it's move inland. And once Bolaven moves through, it'll pull Tembin in. It's weird how they interact.

The computer models show Tembin tracking more over Taiwan right now instead of hitting Ishigaki. So we'll wait and see what happens.
