I'm on my mission!

It was good to hear from people already. Reading letters is nice. But it is surprisingly hard to find time to read them. The mtc is awesome. I love it here. The food is good. I'm going to get fat. And the spirit is everywhere. I love feeling it everywhere I go. I love it here.

Right after I got here they took me to my class and the teacher only spoke Japanese. That was crazy. Japanese is insane. I've learned a lot in my four days here but I have a long way to go. I seem to have an advantage having previous Japanese experience but I think soon we will all be at the same level. I started praying in Japanese on my second day and I taught a lesson yesterday. Kind of. My companion did most of the talking. I can't say anything. I can just memorize words.

My companion is Elder Eliason. Or Eliason Choro. He's cool. I like him. We get along quite well. He kind of reminds me of Jeff Stephens. All of the Elders and sisters or rather Chorotachi and Shimaitachi in my district are awesome. I've made a lot of friends. I love them all. I love everyone here. I am on the bottom bunk. There are four of us in our room. Elders Apina from Hawaii and Trane from Colorado are in our room. Eliason Choro is from North Carolina.

I exercise here and I actually like it. I don't know why. I just love it and I'm sad because I have to wait to exercise until tonight. I run and bike. And my lift a little weights too.

It feels like I've been here forever but at the same time it feels like I just got here. I got a little homesick the first two nights but I'm not anymore. I love it here and I'm just excited to learn and go preach the gospel to the Japanese people. I just want to go to Japan now. But I don't know Japanese. We try to speak Japanese as much as we can but we don't know anything. We can just pray. I pray as much as I can in Japanese. I'm getting really good at it. At first I needed a cheet sheet but now I have it all in my head. And I can do it faster without as much thinking now. I'm progressing quickly but I feel like its really slow. Time works weird here. I need the Doctor to come explain how time works here.

My second day of class was hard. We were learning Japanese and I was struggling and was told I had to teach someone the next day. I was freaking out but then The spirit overcame me and told me it would be ok. I will learn Japanese. I can do it. And the lesson would be ok. And it was ok. I still struggle with the language like you wouldn't believe but I've only been here for four days so I guess that's ok.

Everyone makes fun of my name here. Liddle Choro. They call me Little Choro and Little churro and even our japanese investigator guy called me Chisai Choro. Chisai means little in Japanese.

I hope you are all doing well at home. I miss you but I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. It's worth the two years away from home. I love focusing on the Lord all the time without having to worry about anything else. Its all about the Lord.

I love you all. Be happy. There is so much to be happy about. Give the Lord the time he deserves.

Love,

Liddle Choro.

I am now posting Josh's mailing address for the MTC. Also, using dearelder.com, you can send letters for FREE as long as he is in the MTC! They print, and deliver them to the MTC that day!

A picture of just before leaving for the MTC. The wonderful, nice Elder who greeted us! And pics of the unloading of the luggage. Can you tell that I wanted to get in as many photos as I could?

I am only able to upload 5 pictures per post, it seems, so here is the first installment. Hugs at the curb :)

So, Josh left for the MTC today! We are so excited for him! I will be keeping this blog to let his friends and loved ones updated on his mission. Once we get an email from him, I will start posting his experiences. I'm starting with some pictures from last night when he was set apart as a missionary. The one first one with his dad is just outside the Stake President's office just after the blessing. The rest are at home with his family. He is such a handsome missionary! I will add pictures from the MTC in my next post.
